Are you looking for an opportunity to turn your knowledge and experience into an exciting role in the quality and compliance service? Would you like to be involved in a variety of building developments across New Plymouth?

We have a full time permanent vacancy for two Building Officers within our highly skilled team. The role requires you to deliver on the processing and/or inspections of building consents and provide technical advice to customers.

To be successful in this role you must have an appropriate qualification as described in Regulation 18 (Requiring technical qualifications) of the Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006. Additionally you will have
• Practical experience in construction, building design, building surveying or inspection
• The ability to communicate effectively with professionals and home-owners alike
• Ability to think creatively to solve practical problems
• Attitude to go the ‘extra mile’ for our customers
• Current working knowledge of the NZ Building Code and Building Act
